Daydreams and Night Lights
A Radiant Aberration Photography Exhibition

This exhibition will explore the creative imagination. What oddity or mirage do you picture during the day? Have you captured apparitions or things that go bump in the night? We are looking for everything from your beautiful hallucinations and stories to nightfall scenes. We encourage experimentation through technique, process, and concepts in photography.

Radiant Aberration has partnered with zoneFIVE to present this juried photography exhibition. ZoneFIVE is an active arts space hosting exhibitions, events, and workshops, and is home to MS Art Conservation, the Pikes Peak Art Council, COS Art Closet, and working artist studios.

Juror: Sandra Klein
Sandra Klein is an artist whose images, whether captured with a camera or composited, portray a layered world which, though filled with anxiety and trauma, still is rich with joy. She was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, and received a BFA from Tyler School of Fine Art in Philadelphia, PA, and an MA in Printmaking from San Diego State University. Her images have been shown throughout the United States and Abroad and she has had one-person shows at the Griffin Museum of Photography, both the Lishiu and Yixian Festivals in China, Studio Channel Islands, the A Smith Gallery in Texas, and Photographic Gallery SMA in San Miguel Allende, Mexico. She was the recipient of the Lorser Feitelson Grant jointly with artist Betye Saar.

Her work has been featured on Lenscratch, The Boston Globe, A Photo Editor, What Will You Remember, Musee Magazine, All About Photo Magazine, Dek Unu, Beta Magazine, and Diffusion Magazine, and is held in public and private collections.

She is represented by Photographic Gallery SMA in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico

Details
Selections: 15 pieces will be chosen by the juror to be exhibited at ZoneFIVE from Oct. 6th through the end of November. In addition, 15 more artworks will be chosen by the juror to be displayed in the online gallery. A First Friday opening is planned for October 6th, plus additional photography themed events throughout the duration of the exhibition.

Entry Fees:
Earlybird / before August 12th: $25 for up to 5 images + $4 for each additional image
Regular / August 12-20: $30 for up to 5 images + $4 for each additional image
Framing and Printing: In order to reduce artist's costs Radiant Aberration offers optional in-house printing and framing. The deadline for RA in-house framing and/or printing is September 20th.
Selected artwork may also be shipped by the artist. These pieces must be matted and framed in a simple black frame and be no larger than 24 inches on the longest side. Shipped artwork will need to arrive at ZoneFIVE Studios between Sept. 25-Oct. 2nd. Artists will be responsible for the return shipping of their artwork.
Eligibility: This call for entry is open to all artists, worldwide, regardless of experience level. We invite photographers working in all photographic mediums, digital, film, mixed, and alternative processes to participate. Please do not submit AI-derived images.
Application Requirements: Submitting artists must own the copyright to images submitted.
You take full responsibility for the content of all images, including the likeness of recognizable individuals.
Notification of juror selections: Everyone who submits images will be notified by email of the juror’s selections. Notification will be sent in the second week of September.

zoneFIVE accepts no liability for artwork selected for exhibition at zoneFIVE. Shipping, printing and framing fees are not included in entry fees.

COPYRIGHT AND USE: All submitting artists retain the copyright to their images. Only artists whose submissions are chosen for the exhibition grant Radiant Aberration and zoneFIVE the specific right to use their images for the purpose of promoting the artist, events, exhibitions, and subsequent display on the program's website of current and past exhibitions. Artist’s recognition is provided with any use. Images may be placed on social media by the Radiant Aberration and zoneFIVE with artist credit.
Please note: we are unable to return work outside the U.S. and Canada. Having us print, mat, and frame your work is by far the lowest-cost way to participate in this juried exhibition.
