Class Details
Using our conservation documentation studio, learn the basics of how and why to document collections using ultraviolet induced visible fluorescence (UV Visible). The class includes lecture on the underlying concepts and use of the technique, choosing equipment, and specific needs in a photodocumentation studio. Lectures will be recorded an available on-demand following the workshop. The hands-on portion of the workshop focuses on demonstration and practice of workflows and troubleshooting using documentation of flat artworks, including works on paper, paintings, textiles, and books. Basics of workflows, camera functions, and file management are covered. Class size is kept small so all participants will have time to practice the workflow. This workshop is geared toward conservators, photographers, and other collections professionals that want to incorporate UV visible imaging into their documentation workflow. Participants should have a basic understanding of the use of their camera and some experience with photography of collections. This workshop is in person in our studio in Colorado Springs, CO.
